12/21-12/27/07

I'm finally updating the blog, yay! The first 7 weeks were busy, so I'll try to share as much of it as possible in some sort of order.

The Hospital and Coming Home
12/21-12/23/07

At Jenny's appointment her blood pressure was very high so we were sent straight over to L&D for induction. Here we are arriving at L&D and getting all settled in.

Jenny spent a lot of time in the rocking chair during the early part of labor, it helped with the contractions. Josh's family arrived just as the contractions were starting to get pretty bad, so they visited for a few minutes and then everybody but Josh left while Jenny got her epidural. Afterwards Jenny was much happier and was able to relax and enjoy the rest of the labor and delivery experience.

After about 8 hours of labor, Jenny was ready to push! It only took a little over half an hour and John was here at 10:40 pm Friday December 21st 2007, weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long. Here are some more of his first pictures.

The next day, Mommy, Daddy and John got to spend some time together and then all the grandparents came to visit.

The pictures of John with the grandparents are in a previous post...check them out!
After everyone left John watched his first Panthers football game with Dad

On Sunday 12-23 we all got to go home! Here are some more pictures from the last morning in the hospital and John's arrival home.

John's first visitor came today as well. Aunt Kristy came by to visit but had to leave her son Davis at home because he was sick :(

12/24 Christmas Eve
Here is a picture of John finally getting some rest on Christmas Eve, while Josh and Jenny were up watching some of the midnight services on TV.

12/25 Christmas
Jenny's mom and Josh's whole family were all here to celebrate John's first Christmas with us. It was definitely interesting as we were not expecting him quite yet and we were going to put up the Christmas tree the day we were induced, but we made due and even came up with a make-shift Christmas tree. There are more Christmas pictures in a previous post!

12/27-1 Week Old!
Here are a few pictures of John on his one week birthday. He likes his swing already!

These are just some more random pictures I thought I would share since he's so cute!

He's so cute! I love seeing Kristy and Jenny (and Josh!) hold the baby - you all are such pros!

Also looks like as the pictures progress, you both seem to be more sleep! I hope that trend continues
